Wade Clemons and Golfing in the Rain Seven Biggest Fools old time religion
Billy Graham aspiring Wade Clemons...it's great! Unfortunately Wade raps on only one side, the other is filled with the only bad music to ever come out of New Orleans. But still a winner. Wade runs down the fools in his sermon "Message of the Seven Biggest Fools" portrayed on the record jacket by, hopefully, Wade's kid. If not, then Wade needs art lessons. Now I know why they call them "primitive" Baptists! Grandma Moses could do better.
My favorite of the seven fools is the fellow who chooses to golf on Sunday. Now I can't be bothered to listen to the whole thing, sorry...but I imagine it would go something like this"
"Number TWOuh! CURSE-ed be the man-uh who chooses-uh to golf on the sabbath, for it shall surely rain-uh"

I would have to be incorrect to assume that Wade is listing himself as one of the 7 fools from the cover art?
ReplyDeleteWade Clemons is my father, a wonderful, gentle and kind person that never passes judgement and has only love in his heart for people. He is 75 yrs old now and has Alzheimer's disease, but can quote all of his old sermons. Preaching was and still is his life, and he had dedicated his life to the service of God. Anyone that knows him, know how much he loves God, and has selflessly given himself to love and help people in need, never once caring, never once judging who they were, or where they came from...just wanted to post this in honor of him.
