Ma Sunday Speaks (and runs the business) Mrs. Billy Sunday old time religion
"Ma" Sunday was the wife of professional baseball player and enemy of liquor, evolution, playing cards, reading novels and dancing, Billy Sunday. Billy is far to big a piece of Sunday for one post...That he received donations from the Ku Klux Klan is enough for at least one or two posts, so I'll put him on the back burner for now and take on Ma.
Ma had the good fortune to live long enough for the tape recorder to be invented, and if we are to believe the copy here, she seemingly gasped out this book on her deathbed. She actually lived a few more years, I checked...but why wait?
I'm glad Ma had her say. After all, her husband is said to have preached directly to more than 100 million people while she worked the operation from behind.
But in the end, after all the crowds went home, Billy went home to Ma. To count the receipts. Ma was the businesswoman behind the preaching ball player.
