Reverend Edna Beougher Hughes Child Evangelist Marries Young, Preaches Long old time religion

Well, she stuck with it, as Edna Beougher, child evangelist is shown here in 1923, and again 35 years later on the cover of her book. She kept her smile too!

Now what I can not quite figure out is how this lovely young girl, obviously blessed (or hit in the head with a rock tossed) by the lord was able to marry FIVE YEARS after this picture was taken. Dude, she's a GIRL evangelist, not a grown woman. I guess it isn't unusual for a fellow to hitch his horse to a comer...especially after seeing coins tossed his future bride's way while she performs sealed the deal. But still...how old could she have been?)

So in order to see if the meeting under God was legal, I looked up Edna's day of birth. 1906 in Good Hope Township, Hocking County. Okay, it's clean. Young Edna above was 17....so the marriage must have taken place at 21. Fair enough.

The lord was good to her, allowing her to walk this earth and spread the gospel until she was 91.

I came across a site or two making sure young Rev. Edna was legal...and they said "WE NEED A PICTURE" so here you go. My Pleasure.
