Old Time Religion in Dickeyville

Father Wernerus, shown here hovering over his ramshackle bedazzler, was afraid Americans other than Catholic Americans were worried Catholic Americans loved the Pope more than the President. So he build a Grotto full of Patriotic baubles as a tribute to both. Welcome to the Dickeyville Grotto. Constructed 1929 and the postcard mailed 1945.
