How to Make Effective Church Visits (Unarmed) old time religion

God prepares to send out a battalion of pesky door-knockers in this 1964 booklet. Thankfully, the presence of runaway gun ownership has reduced the number of churches who dare send out property invaders to knock unannounced on doors…and it just wouldn't be proper to send them out armed with anything other than the good word.

The pamphlet is loaded with tips. How to identify prospects (they omit my personal favorite…look for huge trash bags full of empty whiskey bottles and beer cans) and how to measure your results (did the losers show up in church that weekend?)

They even have the nerve to suggest you politely ask the prospect (or rube, as they are called in the carny business) to "turn down the TV" so the message being shared can dominate.
