Determined not to know anything among you except Jesus." A lovely phrase with many interpretations. Even better? "NO POLITICS and Sectarianism." I can think of a few politicians today milking the vote by stirring up a cauldron of fetid evangelical soup. See here? No Politics. And further, mind your own business. They way I look at it, the vote of a moderate, loving Christian counts just as much as that of a rabid intolerant fanatic...you might as well try to attract them ALL to your cause, not just the dumb ones. Show some moderation. And while you are learning to mind your own business and let women decide for themselves. You might also give some thought to the fact that your religion is now a minority and it would behoove you to learn how to get along with the rest of the world. Again...moderation.
Sabbath Reading was, I presume, a distributor of tracts and screeds from early New York. I can not read the postmark date, but the 1895 blue Benjamin stamp indicates they may have already been taking advantage of a bulk-rate or non-profit status...most letters were two cents. With a logo this beautiful, I can't complain.
